Farewell from the university is not the end of a journey, but the beginning of a new chapter built upon unforgettable memories, friendships, and experiences that will cherish us forever. “Evermore’26” was organized by the third-year TESL undergraduates of the Department of English Language Teaching at the University of Kelaniya for their beloved fourth-year seniors on the 26th of February 2026. The event brought together the entire department in a vibrant gathering filled with laughter, gratitude, and joy.
The ceremony commenced with a vibrant opening as respected lecturers from the Department of English Language Teaching (DELT), including the Head of the Department Ms. Gevani Prahalathan, Dr. Anton Pushparaj, Dr. Mahishi Ranaweera, Ms. Shezmin Wazeer, and Ms. Nipuni Prabodhika, lit the traditional oil lamp alongside the batch representatives.
The atmosphere was immediately filled with excitement, as lecturers and students from the first, second, third, and fourth years gathered together. The evening commenced with a warm and cheerful welcome delivered by a third –year undergraduate.
The third-year TESLiers arranged a series of interactive games for the audience that brought out laughter and friendly competition. The evening was rich with the vivid talents of the students of each batch. One of the most eye-catching performances was the third-year student’s dance, which earned the loudest cheer from the audience. The musical performances from the first and third year batches were exceptional, each standing out with mesmerizing harmonies.
One of the most memorable highlights of the evening was the speech delivered by Ms. Nipuni, who spoke warmly about the fourth-year students. Her words reflected pride, admiration, and heartfelt appreciation for their journey. A representative from the third-year batch delivered a touching speech dedicated to the fourth years about their experiences and memories.
Evermore was more than just an event; it was a beautiful tribute to friendship, mentorship, and shared memories. The laughter, the music, the heartfelt words, and the joyful moments made it an evening that will be cherished “Evermore” in the hearts of everyone.
