The Excellence in Humanities Awards 2025 was held on Friday, 20th February 2026 at the K14 Auditorium, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya. The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Humanities.

The Department of English Language Teaching was represented at the ceremony, with two of its senior academics receiving prestigious awards.

Senior Professor Chamindi Dilkushi Senaratne Wettewe received the Honorary Service Award in Humanities 2025, representing the Department of English Language Teaching. She was also recognized under the title of Service Excellence in Humanities for her dedicated service as the Director of the Career Guidance Unit.

In addition, the Head of the Department, Senior Lecturer Gevani Prahalathan, was recognized with the Contribution Excellence in Humanities 2025 award.

The Department of English Language Teaching warmly congratulates both award recipients on their outstanding achievements and valuable contributions to the Faculty and the University.
